This local golf course was built through Manatee County’s natural preserves and combines the natural beauty of southern Florida with a stunning modern design. The course does accept non-members but make sure to call ahead to ensure there are no ongoing events that may restrict your tee time.

SARASOTA NATIONAL GOLF CLUB

The Sarasota National Golf Club, located in Venice, Florida, is the perfect golf course to visit if you want to have a luxury experience. It’s also great for people who care about the environment and the impact they have on it.

Created by Florida architect Gordon B. Lewis, the course was designed with the environment in mind. Lewis did the best he could to keep alterations to the landscape to a minimum and avoid disrupting the native wetlands in the area.

Lewis’ efforts definitely weren’t in vain. Sarasota National Golf Club has even been named an Audubon Certified Sanctuary Course.

Designed by Ron Garl, this course is a spacious championship golf course. It’s also an award-winning course. Its 8th hole, which is a par 4 located over the water, is regularly voted one of the best 18 holes in the Sarasota area.

IMG ACADEMY GOLF CLUB

The IMG Academy Golf Club first opened in 1972. Its undergone some major renovations ($2.5 million dollars’ worth of renovation, to be specific) over the last few years, though.

Designer Gene Bates oversaw the renovations and has created a stunning course that golfers of all ages and skill levels love to come and visit. The island green on the course’s tenth hole is particularly memorable.

This course is known as one of the most playable and technically advanced courses in the area. It’s a great course to visit if you really want to test your skills.

MISTY CREEK COUNTRY CLUB

For serious golfers, Misty Creek Country Club is the perfect place to visit. This 18-hole championship course was designed by Ted McAnlis.

It has a par of 72 and covers nearly 7,000 yards from the longest tees. This course also features stunning views of lakes and forests and every hold is a site to see.

TATUM RIDGE GOLF LINKS

Tatum Ridge Golf Links is a fun 18-hole course designed by Ted McAnlis.

The whole course is stunning and memorable, but the 13th hold is particularly noteworthy. It’s a par 5 dogleg located over a massive lake. It’ll give even the most skilled golfers a run for their money.

The University Park Country Club is a gorgeous 27-hole course that’s open to the public, so anyone can play here.

All three of the nines were designed by Ron Garl and provide tons of views to the natural south Florida terrain. The greens of this course are stunning and the course is always well-maintained.

SARA BAY COUNTRY CLUB

Located slightly north of Sarasota is the Sara Bay Country Club. This club first opened in 1926 and was designed by Donald Ross.

If you want a traditional club experience, Sara Bay is the place to visit. It’s never crowded and features impeccable and memorable greens.

If you’re not ready to commit and become a member at the club, you can always get a trial membership to use during your stay in Sarasota.

THE CONCESSION GOLF CLUB

Located in nearby Bradenton, Florida, everyone knows the Concession Golf Club for its incredible service and stunning greens.

Designed by Tony Jacklin and Jack Nicklaus, this course is meant to be a place for golf enthusiasts from all over the world to come together and enjoy their favorite sport.
